Strength for the Toughest Battle

By JoAnn Koening

I have received several excellent testimonies from people who have used my book Wholly Addicted to help them start their days focusing on God and His Word, in spite of their life’s circumstances. But I have to say that this testimony from my niece, Cheryl Lehman from San Antonio, TX, is extremely dear to me. Once you read it, you’ll understand why.

“On August 2, 2016, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, a very aggressive, fast moving cancer. It was such a surprise, considering cancer doesn’t run in my family.

That night as I was talking to God, I gave Him my cancer. Since then, I have been at peace and full of joy.

Thank goodness, I have my family and my faith. I received the Wholly Addicted devotional from my sweet, loving Aunt. What a blessing she is to me! Day 14 really spoke to me.

I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen – Ephesians 3:16-21 NLT

Time and time again, God has shown His love for me by providing my needs and helping me with everything.

Most importantly, I’ve been able to witness to others even more because of my cancer and through sharing the wonderful devotional Wholly Addicted!

What a mighty Lord we serve! My precious Aunt JoNonnie has enriched my spiritual growth through her amazing book!”
