Whether on land or at sea, Sara Lewis has long felt the call to intercede for others. After retiring from teaching at a community college, Sara and her husband Monty began spending their winters sailing in the Bahamas. The need for detailed charts and cruising guide information brought about the Lewises’ Explorer Chartbook series. Living aboard also prompted Sara to write a devotional calendar, Walking on the Waterways: Parables from Sailing. In CALLED TO PRAY: AN INTERCESSOR’S TOOLKIT, she has compiled the lessons on prayer that God has revealed to her over several decades. Incorporating her Holy Spirit gifts of teaching, encouragement, and mercy with her call to intercession, she leads several prayer circles, putting her calling into action.

Topics: Prayer

Sara’s heart for intercessory prayer has led to her mission to encourage women to pray and to build prayer communities on Delmarva’s Eastern Shore. Her lessons involve the basics of prayer as developed in her book, Called to Pray: An Intercessor’s Toolkit (Part 1). The acronym WWJT sums it up–that prayer should be in God’s WILL, as laid out in His WORD, always in JESUS’ name, and waiting on God’s TIMING. Sara will lead you to understand your calling, prepare your foundation physically and spiritually, provide tools for spiritual warfare, and teach you how to listen for God’s answers. Sara is willing and eager to visit churches or small groups to encourage God’s kingdom people to enlarge His territory through the power prayer.
