I can sense God is doing something new and I don’t want to miss out on any of it. But I feel that I’m not pressing into God enough. Do you feel that way as well?

The enemy indeed is doing all he can to prevent us from that wonderful close spiritual walk we want and need. Let’s look at some of the ways he’s doing it.

A big one is busyness. Yes, busy, busy, busy people we are. Are we so busy that the day is gone and we realize we were not in tune with God?

What can we do about that? I have learned many things that help—just from taking notes from God as I wrote RESTORE, RESTORE, RESTORE and MORE. Yes, it is wonderful to learn how to hear from God, but the secret is to apply what we hear. We have to put action to what God reveals to us, and it isn’t hard. But why does it seem so hard?

Flesh… we are fighting with our flesh, our old self, our Me First self.

God is wanting us to daily get in His Word. He wants us to get in prayer, to walk with Him, sing with Him, listen to Him, laugh with Him. God wants to give us blessings in this gift of a new day.

The solution is to tell that to your Me First self. (Image via Pixabay)

Put on that spiritual armor, open up that Bible, get out a pen and paper and prepare to hear from God. Listen for God to talk to you. It may be a thought that flashes through your head. Act on what God reveals. Tell Him what is on your mind, and give your faith something to work on each day. Workouts build us up, you know. Build up that faith. Keep your hope alive.

This really works.

Just yesterday, I was to be interviewed on a radio show about my books. The host and I talked briefly when I dialed in at the appointed time of 1:55 PM for the live show at 2:00. He told me there would be an automated countdown five seconds before we went live. I was excited! 5-4-3-2- nothing. A power outage at that last second knocked me off the phone.

Nice try, Satan, but I had spent time in the Word and also in prayer. One minute later I was able to dial back in. I heard the host talking about upcoming events, and as he finished his sentence he said, “We have Ann back on, so let me introduce her.” The thirty-minute interview went as scheduled. I shared the excitement of this new agenda of God and God was the main topic for that thirty minutes.

Your days will be blessed when God is put first.
