Connie Carey

After earning music degrees from Shorter and Southern Methodist Universities, she enjoyed twenty years as a music teacher, from preschool to college level.
Her volunteer work at church eventually became her full-time work and she has served in various capacities as Children’s Choir Director, Pianist and eventually Worship Leader.
She is a member of the National Speakers Association. In 2013, she placed in the top 18 of over 30,000 contestants in the International Speech Contest, sponsored by Toastmasters International. But don’t be too impressed…she can never find her keys. If you’re looking for a speaker on how to organize your life, she’s not the one.
Marrying John transformed her overnight from single girl to grandmother…and she loves it!
She and John have found purpose in joining their lives with the people of Pleasant Hill, an impoverished neighborhood in Macon, Georgia, where she leads a women’s weekly Bible study.
Recently adopted by two dogs, Frankie and Brownie, their hearts (and yard) will never be the same.
